Chris Achzet Designs - Rack Facts

CAD Rack Facts

  • Do you have stock designs?                                     Answer - Yes we currently have 3 stock designs that can be viewed in Shop Online.
  • Are your racks easy to setup?                                  Answer - Yes, with our exclusive joint system CAD racks are easier to assemble. Our bar to bar joints attach the tubes from the inside making the racks look seamless as well.
  • What are the length of your bars?                                    Answer - We understand that you have to transport your rack. Bar lengths vary per design but we tend to keep lengths to the industry standard of 42" or shorter.
  • Are CAD racks affordable?                                       Answer - Custom anything is more expensive than products off the shelf. That being said the price of stock CAD designs are becoming more and more affordable as time goes on.
  • What if I want a custom design? What does that cost? Answer - To many variables to list an exact price. The best thing you can do is shoot me an email or a phone call and we can discuss your needs and put together an estimate.
  • What finishes do you offer?                                      Answer - We can offer a ton of options. Chrome plating, Powder coating in just about any color in the spectrum, glow in the dark, textured finishes.
  • Do you only design and build drum racks?                      Answer - Not at all, we can design and fabricate just about anything. Drum racks, keyboard racks and stands, DJ rigs, mic stands, drum and band risers, synth bass stands, pedal boards, gong stands, you name it..
  • How long does it take?                                              Answer - It all depends on the scope of the project. Stock designs (if not in stock) are about two weeks. Designs from scratch could be anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks depending.
  • Are your products offered in any stores?                   Answer - Currently online only. If you happen to be in the Los Angeles area you can stop by our shop at Los Angeles Drum Services. LADS is closed to the public but you can make an appointment to for a visit.
OK, I want to inquire about a rack design.
  • Do I have to live in LA or bring my gear to you to be able to get something done?
  • Answer - No, it is not a necessity but if you live in the area it's fun to visit the shop and see things first hand take place. All I need is some basic information on your kit or what you want to mount, some existing photos of your current setup.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact us.

What you can expect….

I will work with you through every step of this process from initial order to after you receive your custom job and want some mounting advise or just chit chat.

If you're buying an existing design from our On Line Store I will email you prior to making it and ask you a few questions. Feel free to email any questions you may have prior to your order as well.

New Design, Stock Design Mods..

An example situation for someone who live out of town:

  • Give me a call and and can discuss what you're thinking, what you're mounting and I can give you some ideas and options.
  • We come to a concept and I provide you an estimate.
  • Once I have you're piece on my jig I will take some pictures, FaceTime so we make sure we are both on the same page. We will continue to do this until complete.
  • Finish is applied to the rack
  • I will make joints permanent.
  • Reassemble Rack
  • (If you have sent your drums & hardware for mounting this would be next)
  • Rack is prepped and shipped.

Again I will communicate with you through the whole process. I want you to be comfortable and my main priority is to exceed your expectations!!

If you live in the LA area it is pretty much the same process except you are welcome to stop by during the design and build phase to discuss. I will also be happy to help you get your stuff mounted.
